The app walks you through seven steps. Each step explains itself and waits for you.
1

Create or restore a wallet

The app creates a wallet from a 12-word recovery phrase, or restores one from a phrase you already have. To sign with Turnkey or MPCVault instead, choose Use a wallet I already have: see MPC signers.
2

Write down the recovery phrase

The phrase restores the wallet in Panofx Node, MetaMask or any standard wallet. Keep it on paper and never type it into a website. The app will not go on until you confirm you have written it down.
3

Name your node

The name is public and appears on the explorer. The region is informational. The alert email is private and used only to reach you about your node.
4

Set your prices and limits

Your spread either side of the reference rate, the largest single fill, the daily cap, and the balances below which the node stops quoting. The defaults are sensible for a first node.
5

Add money

Send the wallet the tokens you want to sell, plus about 0.001 ETH for the approvals. The app shows the address, and a QR code, and watches the balances arrive.
6

Enable trading

One approval transaction per token, once. This is the only gas you ever spend.
7

Go live

The app registers your node with the relay and starts quoting. The dashboard shows requests, offers and declines as they happen.
The app answers on this computer only. To reach it from anywhere else, pair a browser: see Run on a server, or Advanced → Remote access in the app.

What the app does that the command line does not

  • Notifies you when a balance runs low, when the market moves more than you asked, when your node stops quoting, when the network pauses your node, and (if you like) on every swap it fills.
  • On a Mac, keeps the Mac awake while your node is live, and stores your wallet passphrase in the keychain instead of a file.
  • Lists every other corridor the network runs under Corridors, so adding one is a click rather than a policy edit.

After setup

Day-to-day operation, alerts, corridors and upgrades are under Day to day.
